Terms and Conditions
Prices and Payment At Indian Furniture Direct we guarantee that you will not find better value for money, our prices are the lowest you will find both on the internet and in any retail store.
All prices are in £ sterling and include UK VAT at the appropriate rate of 17.5%.
Delivery charges are not included in the prices quoted.
We accept payment by most major credit and debit cards via paypal (no Paypal account required) we also accept bank transfers, cash deposits, postal order and personal cheque payments. Please note if you would like to pay "Cash on Delivery" please contact us first for confirmation as this method of payment is not always possible and depends on your location, in some cases for "COD" payments we will require a small deposit up front which can be paid directly into our bank account so that we can process your order.
For confirmation of a cash on delivery service simply go to the "Contact" page and send us your delivery address and contact telephone number noting the items required, we aim to reply as soon as possible and usually within only 12-48 hours.
If for some unforeseen reason we can not fulfil your order due to items out of stock we will contact you immediately and advise of the current situation, if need be we will issue a full refund without question. If you have chosen to wait until the items are back in stock and our container shipment has unfortunately been delayed we will not be able to cancel your order at a later date, even if your items have not arrived within the estimated timescale. Container orders On reciept of your deposit we will put your container on order it will take aprox 10-12 weeks to be delivered to your door we will keep you updated as to the progress of your order and give you an E.T.A. your balance is payable on your container docking. Problems are few and far between but if you do have anything you are not happy with you have the peace of mind that you are dealing with a british based company able to resolve anything quickly and efficiently. Phone or Fax our office with your wholesale orders and if they are over £600 pounds in value they will be delivered ASAP usually within 2 weeks NATIONWIDE. Alternatively collect your order and get a 10% discount on your invoice
Delivery To keep customer costs to a minimum we operate a one man delivery service hence your delivery driver is only obliged to deliver goods to your front door, please make sure you can offer assistance to our delivery driver if required.
We can only guarantee delivery within the specified time scale of 5-15 working days from payment within "Mainland UK Only" on the basis that stocks are available. We cannot guarantee delivery times but we aim to deliver within the time specified, in most cases "only on working days" therefore we can not guarantee weekend deliveries.
On receipt of delivery it is the customer's responsibility to check the items before signing for as a signature is required to say that items have been received in satisfactory condition, signatures signed unchecked will not be acceptable when processing a claim. If the items are not in satisfactory condition and have been damaged please sign for as damaged and return with the courier if possible. It is also your responsibility to notify us immediately by email, fax or telephone, which must be the same day otherwise we will not be able to process your claim. If the above terms are not met we will not be held liable for any damages. (please note the buyer is responsible for any carriage costs involved)
Multiple items on one order are sent out as a single complete order, occasionally in two parts, if an item is not available and we are unable to complete your order and you insist a part delivery for whatever reason additional costs incurred for deliveries will be charged to the you at the standard delivery rate.
Rates The delivery costs for the UK are as follows:
Flat rate of £35.00 on 1 or more items - "Mainland UK Only" excluding Ireland, Isle of Wight, Scotland & Wales
Scotland = Flat rate of £65.00 on 1 or more items
Wales = Flat rate of £59.00 on 1 or more items
Unfortunately we can not offer shipping options on large items to Ireland and Isle of Wight, small items such as lamp tables etc can be sent via Parcel Force/ DHL although we can not be held responsible for any damages items.
Purchasing All items offered on our website are subject to availability. To purchase any of the items on our Web Site, click the "Add to Cart" button shown on each product page. When you place an order to purchase a product by clicking the button "Checkout", we will send you an e-mail confirming receipt of your order and containing the details of your order. Your order represents an offer to us to purchase a product which is accepted by us when we send e-mail confirmation to you that we've accepted your order or dispatched the product to you. The contract will be filed. For safety reasons your order’s data are not accessible via internet. We keep these data in confidence according to our privacy policy.
Cancellations & Returns Please note it is your responsibility to ensure that all the goods you have ordered will fit into your home and unfortunately we are unable to refund orders which cannot be delivered due to restricted access or the items do not fit the room, under these circumstances items will be exempt from our seven day return policy.
You have the right to cancel your order within seven days of delivery starting from the day you receive the goods and return them for a refund (this excludes goods made to your own specification).
It is your responsibility to give notice of your wish to cancel within the seven day cancellation period by telephone, email, fax or letter.
A 20% handling fee will be charged on all cancelled orders, delivery fees are none refundable and a return delivery fee will also apply
The buyer is responsible for any carriage costs involved, If possible send your order straight back with the driver to keep delivery costs to a minimum, in some cases this is not always possible due to the drivers schedule.
You are under a duty to take reasonable care of the goods whilst in your possetion if any items are returned "damaged" the cost of damages if repairable will be deducted from the final refund ammount. Items returned "damaged" beyond repair will not qualify for a refund.
As soon as your order has been returned "in the same state as it was sent out including all packaging" we will issue a refund of the ammount paid for the goods minus the 20% handling fee as stated above.
After-Sales Services and Guarantees
Our after sales service is second to none! All of our products carry 1 years manufacturers guarantee against materials and workmanship Please note our guarantee does not cover natural movement in timbers, items of furniture placed next to radiators, hot pipes or in a moist environment will cause movement in the wood!

We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998) and according to the Which? Web Trader Code of Practice. We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service. We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent. We will give you the chance to refuse any marketing email from us or from another trader in the future.
